The state of Nevada closed out 2023 with some major revenue jumps in most markets, led by major gains at Las Vegas Strip casinos. The industry saw total gaming revenue of more than $1.4 billion, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board, good for a 9% jump from $1.3 billion for the same month in 2022.

For the fiscal year (July 1 through Dec. 31), gaming revenue has seen an increase of 5.5%. Clark County, home to Las Vegas, once again brought in the majority of those totals with $1.3 billion, up 9.8%.

Strip properties produced $905.4 million, an 11.2% surge from $814.2 million in 2022. Downtown Vegas also saw some nice increases, producing revenue of $75.9 million, moving 10.3% above $68.8 million in December 2022.

Elko County reported $35.6 million, a gain of almost 15% from 2022. South Lake Tahoe reported $16.1 million, an increase of 3%, with North Lake Tahoe checking in at $2.1 million, up 2.6%. Reno was one of the few regions with a drop, declining 7.2% to $54.9 million.

Around the state, slot machines produced $858 million, up 6.9%, with table games responsible for $574.6 million, up 12.5%. The state collected $84.9 million in gaming fees for December, a hefty jump of 27.3% from $66.7 million in December 2022.
